Ivete Sangalo, 51, announced this Saturday (24) that she was discharged from hospital. The Bahian singer, who had the most played song at Carnival 2024, had shared on Thursday (22) that she had to be hospitalized after a diagnosis of pneumonia.
“My loves, already at home!”, she wrote in the caption of a video showing part of a garden, with the song “Gigante” as the soundtrack. “Thank you for so many messages of love and affection. Her prayers arrived and strengthened me. Thank you, God, thank you for taking care of your daughter and making her strong and courageous.”
Several celebrities responded in the comments, celebrating the news. “Amen, Jesus”, celebrated Tata Werneck. “Thank God! Now it’s dengo, rest and good food”, added Fabiana Karla. Singer Beto Jamaica, from É o Tchan, wrote: “Come on, ma’am! You’re huge!”
Admission to a hospital in Salvador occurred after Ivete felt discomfort with a “annoying and very persistent” cough since Tuesday (20). The symptoms appeared after the carnival marathon, during which the singer played her electric trio for several days in the capital of Bahia.
“Before any worries, I want to say that I’m fine!”, she reassured in her first post on the subject. “After the carnival marathon, like most people, I caught a virus. On Tuesday, I didn’t feel comfortable with an annoying and very repetitive cough. Today, following medical advice, I went to the hospital and then came hospitalization . Diagnosis: pneumonia. I’m being treated and I’m already feeling better.”
Because of the illness, Ivete had to cancel the show she was going to do at Navio Carna Xuxa, an event promoted between February 22nd and 26th by her friend Xuxa on a ship along the Brazilian coast. The singer would perform on Friday (23).
“I won’t be able to go to Navio da Xuxa, owned by my beloved Xuxa Meneghel for obvious reasons”, lamented Ivete. “I leave here my affection and respect for her, the entire team, all the fans who would share this joy with me.”
