Professor and biologist Jessilane Alves, 26, took three years to get into Big Brother Brazil. This does not mean that she prepared much for it or created strategies to win the R$ 1.5 million prize. According to her sister, Carolina, she only went with her “face and courage” and the desire not to be known as a “plant”.
“When you go through the BBB, there is always some characteristic [do brother] in the public’s mind, and that [ser conhecida como planta] it was what she didn’t want to be”, says her sister, who is rooting alongside her mother, Claudete, so that the teacher will pay more attention to strategies.
After the first month of Big Brother Brasil 22, Claudete only has positive evaluations and is confident that her daughter has a great chance of reaching the final. “She is starting to pay more attention even to the people she lives with and is giving priority to those who are with her”, highlights Carolina, who says she has not seen changes in her sister’s personality in the game.
Even the issue of Jessi not being able to keep secrets, which caused some friction within the reality, mother and sister claim to be a problem for the teacher also in real life. “When it’s a secret that no one can know, it’s better not to speak [para ela]because sometimes, unintentionally, she lets go and opens her mouth”, says the sister’s mother, in a joking tone.
At Casa, the problem came to light at Tiago Abravanel’s Festa do LÃder, when Jessi counted Linn da Quebrada’s vote for Douglas. “She is like that, she tells the secret and then says that she did, but she does it without malice”, evaluates Carolina. However, the family assures that they are “at peace” in relation to Jessi, who remained lively and communicative on the show.
Born in Bahia, Jessi has lived in the city of ValparaÃso, Goiás, since she was a baby. She started working at the age of 14, but never put her studies aside. According to her family, she has always dreamed of being a teacher, since childhood.
The profession also brought Jessi the opportunity to learn Brazilian sign language, used in an elimination speech by presenter Tadeu Schmidt, 47. “At first we were afraid she would leave and no one paid attention to anything”, recalls Carolina. “But afterwards it was very beautiful, everyone in the family was moved.”
Carolina says that the moment made Jessi, even with little time in the house, bring an important social issue to the program aired on national television. “It makes a difference to many people. Then [do discurso] We received many messages from deaf people and her former students, thanking her and saying that they felt great representation.”
Before joining BBB, Jessi taught extra classes, in addition to her regular classes, to help with the family’s income, in addition to working at her mother’s salon on weekends. But without leaving her party side, which the sister herself made it clear to have in her presentation video on the program. In the images, she already warned that she would be “the enemy of the end” and would certainly enjoy all the parties.
“We try to stay [acordado] until much later to watch”, tell Claudete and Carolina. They say that the whole family also accompanies the biologist at Casa do BBB, going to bed late and waking up early so as not to miss the events, in addition to exchanging many messages throughout the day. “Everything is an event in there”, points out Carolina.
For her sister, however, Jessi still has a lot to show for it. She already knew that the endurance tests would be a difficult task to win, but even in that, the family shows confidence, hoping for disputes of general knowledge or logical reasoning. “She’s pretty smart,” says Carolina. Her mother, on the other hand, says that Jessi “will have more vision of the game, but always have her own way, without getting lost.
