Informed of his death Elias Logothetisthe Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni made the following statement:

“Ilias Logothetis was a great actor who studied under Karolos Koon. He interpreted, with passion, honesty and ethics, important roles, giving them life in the theater, in the Greek cinema, on television. The author Harold Pinter, congratulating him on his performance as Spooner in his play “The Dead Zone”, asked him what was so special about his performance. And the modest Ilias who was loved by the Greek audience, no matter what kind of theatrical speech he indulged in, answered that his Mediterranean temperament made him put a little emotion in every role he played. This temperament of his, his attitude to life, his dedication and his love for Art, was what made him stand out very early, whether he was playing in Byzantium’s “Babylonia”, or in Beckett’s “Endgame” and even performing Vizyenos in “Monon tis gioena tou taxiidion”, by Lakis Papastathis.

A native of Lefkada, a lover of opera, dedicated to his work, an intellectual and at the same time a friend and colleague, simple and approachable, Ilias Logothetis was loved by the public. We will all miss him. My sincere condolences to his family.”
