The 49-year-old actor explained that in the first few months of Lea’s life, he didn’t understand when other parents said: “I would die for my child in an instant.”
Bradley Cooper admitted he struggled to feel connected to his daughter, Lea, when she was born.
The “Maestro” star appeared on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast on Monday and discussed what it’s like as a father to 6-year-old Lea, who was born in March 2017. The 49-year-old actor explained that in the first months of life Lea didn’t understand when other parents said: “I would instantly die for my child.”
“For the first eight months I couldn’t even tell if I loved the child. And then came this huge change. Everything has changed since then. This is my experience”the actor continued. “I enjoyed taking care of her, but would I die if someone came with a gun?”the actor wondered.
He admitted that when his daughter was two months old he was not sure. “And then, suddenly, there’s no doubt”he added.
The actor revealed that he is trying to become a better person in order to “to do the least damage he could to his daughter.”
