Globo renews contract with Endemol and will produce Big Brother Brasil until 2028

Last week, Globo renewed the Big Brother broadcasting rights contract with Endemol Shine Brasi. As a result, BBB will be produced by the broadcaster at least until 2028.

The information was confirmed by F5 with people linked to the business. On his Instagram page last Thursday (29), Boninho confirmed that Tadeu Schmdt will remain in the attraction at least until 2027, which also indicates an extension of the agreement.

“A toast to the harmony of the house and this team that will be together for ANOTHER three editions!!! That’s right! Towards BBB27! And who knows, 28, 29, I want to hit 30!”, posted the Globo director.

Negotiations were at an advanced stage, as the F5. Globo has its “golden goose” format, with advertising revenue reaching more than R$1 billion. Furthermore, the partnership with Endemol extends to other formats. It is the company that produces The Masked Singer Brasil, for example.

To please its partner, Globo has sent benevolent signals that it respects the company’s work, and that it wishes to continue without many changes to the current business model.

An example of this is the French series “Golpista do Amor”, distributed by Endemol, and which was shown on Friday nights at the beginning of this year as a way of endearing the broadcaster.

It is also worth mentioning that Endemol has a financial stake in the licensing of products with the Big Brother brand, which are sold by sponsors of the reality show on Globo.

Behind the scenes at the broadcaster, it was believed that Endemol would not hinder any negotiations by Big Brother. The internal understanding is that no other TV would have the capacity to make reality the multiplatform success that it is.
