The Civil Police of Goiás, through the State Police Station for Specialized Assistance to Women (DEAM), decided to indict businessman Rafael Cabral, ex-husband of Naiara Azevedo, accused by her of domestic and property violence.
The police investigation was sent to the judiciary on February 22nd. When contacted, Rafael did not respond until the publication of this text, but the space remains open.
In December last year, Naiara obtained a protective measure against him in court that guaranteed distance after the artist filed a complaint of domestic violence. At the time, Rafael’s lawyers told the press that he had not been summoned and that he would not comment.
The singer presented images, videos and reports to try to prove the attacks and this material was enough for the police to carry out the indictment. Witness statements helped.
Naiara Azevedo contacted the Civil Police to inform them that she had suffered an episode of physical violence and threats from Cabral, with whom she was married for ten years.
In the complaint, Naiara also said that she had been the victim of crimes such as illegal harassment, bodily harm, insult, threat, misappropriation and property violence by her ex-husband. According to lawyers, Cabral had told Naiara that he would end her life and career.
At the end of last year, at the Meeting, the singer said that she kept the cases hidden for years to preserve Rafael Cabral’s image.
“My intention was to talk about property violence, the police chief ended up pulling me out and I said everything I experienced, all forms of aggression. I kept all of this for many years. I really respect the family, he has a 15-year-old daughter, I wanted to preserve the image positive, but there comes a time when it’s no longer possible”, he said.
She also stated that the businessman said that without him, Naiara would never have a successful career or family, which she classifies as psychological abuse. According to her, after fights and arguments came reprisals, which continued after speaking publicly about the case.
