The daughter of the famous actress Andie McDowell, Margaret Qualleywill play the writer, and activist Amanda Knoxwho was charged and jailed for brutally murdering her friend in a currently untitled Hulu miniseries, Variety has learned.

According to the official description the eight-episode series will be “based on the true story of Knox, who was wrongfully accused of murdering her British roommate Meredith Kercher.”

The unfortunate student was found half-naked in a pool of blood with 47 stab wounds in 2007 in Perugia, Italy.

The 20th Television series will chronicle the activist and journalist’s 16-year odyssey to prove her innocence.

Knox and her husband Chris Robinson will also executive produce the series through their company Knox Robinson Productions. They are joined by Margaret Qualley, Monica Lewinsky and ‘This is Us’ producer KJ Steinberg who also wrote the screenplay.

In 2013 Amanda Knox released her autobiography titled “Waiting to be Heard”while in 2016 her documentary that bears her name premiered on Netflix.
