by

After publishing a photo that was manipulated, Kate Middleton publicly apologized. The mea culpa was recorded by X (formerly Twitter), and by international press such as the Mirror.

“Like many amateur photographers, I occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a happy Mother’s Day,” he wrote.

After the image was published, many news agencies took the photo down after analyzing and verifying that there were signs of manipulation. As a result, Kensington Palace began to come under pressure to resolve the controversy.

A photo of Kate alongside her three children was published this Sunday morning (10), on the official Instagram profile of Kensington Palace, the residence of the Prince and Princess of Wales, which ended up being celebrated by the family’s fans.

The image in honor of Mother’s Day in the United Kingdom would be Kate’s first official image after abdominal surgery in January and, amid speculation about her health, it is still surrounded by many mysteries. The caption reads: “Thank you for your good wishes and continued support over the past two months. I wish you all a happy Mother’s Day.” Authorship is indicated as follows: “Prince of Wales, 2024”, a reference to William.

Hours later, international news agencies such as Reuters, Associated Press and France Presse deleted the image from their catalog. They allege suspected manipulation in the material released by Kensington Palace. The photo shows Kate sitting, surrounded by Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis and Prince George, the latter wrapping his arms around her.
