After him commotion caused with the “teased” first official photo by Kate Middleton which distributed on Sunday the Kensington Palace, the royal family made an unprecedented move to admit the truth.

In a statement posted on the official accounts of the Prince and Princess of Wales (William and Kate) Kate herself, signing with her initial C, took responsibility and admitted photo editing.

“Like many amateur photographers, I occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to apologize for any confusion the family photo caused that we shared yesterday. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day,” she says.

The photo that went around the world – as well it was Kate’s first official photowhich the royal family released after her Jan. 16 abdominal surgery – it showed the future Queen smiling, sitting in a garden chair surrounded by her three children, George, Charlotte and Louis.
