Apple TV released the trailer for the miniseries “Franklin“, starring Michael Douglas (Michael Douglas).

The 79-year-old star, after a long hiatus, plays Benjamin Franklin, the multitalented personality of American history, in the eight years he spent in France and in the story of the biggest bet of his career.

THE directing of all episodes is of the award-winning Tim Van Patten (Timothy Van Patten). He is joined by Noah Jupe who plays his son, as well as Marc Duret, Ludivine Sagnier, Thibault de Montalembert and Daniel Mays, among others.

“In December 1776 he was already famous for his electrical experiments,” the official summary states. “But his passion and strength are tested when he embarks on a secret mission to France, with the fate of American independence hanging in the balance.

At the age of 70, with no diplomatic training, Franklin managed, thanks to his charisma and ingenuity, to overcome British spies, French informers and plan the Franco-American alliance of 1778.

The eight-episode series is based on the 2005 book A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Stacy Schiff, written by Kirk Ellis. and Howard Korder.

The series is set to debut on April 12 with the final episode airing on May 17.
