The creator of the TV series “Peaky Blinders”, Steven Knight confirmed that the Cillian Murphy will reprise his role as gangster Tommy Shelby in the upcoming spin-off film.

The Oscar-winning actor starred in six seasons of the popular British drama which ran from 2013 to 2022.

In 2021, it was announced that instead of ending the series with a seventh season, the ending would be presented in a film.

Speaking at the recent premiere of his new BBC drama ‘The Town’, Stephen Knight said ‘Murphy is definitely coming back for the film’.

“Filming will take place in September, in Digbeth, Birmingham,” he said.

Cillian Murphy, star of the film “Oppenheimer” recently said: “The TV part of the story is over. If there are more stories to be told, I’m there.”

Set in the aftermath of World War I, the ‘Peaky Blinders’ series follows one of the region’s most powerful gangs at the time, led by returning war hero Thomas Shelby.
