Bella Campos points out racism after being mistaken for a server in a restaurant

Actress Bella Campos, 26, who played Muda in “Pantanal” (2022) and Jenifer in “Vai na Fé” (2023), both on Globo, reported having been mistaken for an attendant in a restaurant this Friday ( 22). She recorded the moment on Instagram stories while waiting to have dinner there.

In the video shared in stories, Campos is outside the restaurant and films a blonde woman who, according to the actress, asked if she was an employee there. “Guys, I went into a restaurant and it was overcrowded, and this white woman here said: ‘Is she the server?’. And she looked me up and down. Honey?”, she reported.

“Good evening, Brazil”, said the actress, who, shortly after, showed the middle finger to the camera. She did not identify the restaurant in which the episode took place. O F5 He tried to contact the actress’s advisor and did not receive a response until the publication of this report.

It is not the first time that Bella Campos claims to have been confused with employees of establishments she frequents. In March 2023, a similar episode happened in a store and she attributed what happened to the color of her skin.

“I see people on the internet discussing whether I’m black or white, but, in the meantime, they continue to confuse me with a shopping mall saleswoman, as if that were a demerit,” he told the newspaper Extra at the time. “The other day, I was trying on clothes and a woman asked if I worked there. That’s the kind of thing we still go through. Ridiculous.”

“We know that, unfortunately, we live in an extremely racist society, full of problems, but we no longer allow ourselves to be silenced or affected. This does not stop us from following our path, fighting and showing our voice”, he added.

In the interview, Campos said that he began to understand himself as a black person in his adolescence, when he moved from Cuiabá, in Mato Grosso, to Florianópolis, in Santa Catarina.
