One of the most celebrated singers in the pop universe, Jessie J She turned 36 at the end of March and during an event about women and health care in London, she said she had undergone a cosmetic procedure, but was not very happy with the result. “I had Botox in my face and I couldn’t move my forehead. It was horrible,” she said.
The British singer, who is the mother of a 10-month-old boy (Sky Safir), also said that, like anyone, she has insecurities, but she managed to overcome them. “Everything is very unreal. I needed to work on my self-esteem after pregnancy, to love myself more”, said Jessie. She also said that she has no problems with getting older: “I want to be myself regardless of other people’s opinions”.
Another point of debate at the event was the way in which artificial intelligence has represented women, without taking into account the diversity of bodies, colors and other physical features. According to the newspaper O Globo, Jessie does not see anything positive about AI.
“I don’t see anything good and it saddens me to know that someone is creating something that we should be, and we are not. What are we going to leave for our children? We have to fight for everything to be as real as possible”, highlighted Jessie in the talk.
The British singer will perform on Brazilian soil in two cities: São Paulo (30/4) and Rio de Janeiro (2/5). The artist’s last performance in the country was at Rock in Rio, in 2022.
