• Theofilos Sold, directed by Olias Lazaridou at the Theater of ASKT

“Theofilos Sold – Hilarious Tragedy”, a play inspired by the life of Theophilos Chatzimichael, is presented, directed by Olias Lazaridou and written by Samson Raka, at the Theater of the School of Fine Arts. The work is inspired by the life of Theofilos Hatzimichael, the self-taught painter and iconographer, who was later recognized as a pioneer of popular art. Borrowing elements of folk entertainment and circus, the performance is accessible to audiences of all ages. They are performed by two young actresses, Emiliani Stavrianidou and Ariadni Kostantakopoulou.

  • Slow Art Day 2024 at the B&E Goulandris Foundation: Discovering selected works through the experiential experience of slow art

The B&E Goulandris Foundation in Pagrati, the first museum in Athens to take part in the international institution of Slow Art Day, welcomes all visitors to Slow Art Day 2024 and invites them to discover selected works of its permanent Collection through the unique experience of slow Art. Audiences of all ages are encouraged, by following some simple steps, to slow down the way they observe Art and live, through this process, a powerful and possibly unprecedented experience. As part of Slow Art Day 2024, all visitors to the B&E Goulandris Foundation will be able to receive from the Museum Reception the specially designed form that includes information and instructions on the process of slow observation of works of art, in order to experience the experience focusing on four selected works of the permanent Collection: the “Horse with harness”, vitrified clay funerary figurine (China, Tang dynasty, 8th century) on the first floor, “The Red Fish” by AR Penck on the second floor, the “Large study in red of Cadmium” by Giorgos Rorris on the third floor and “London Landscape – Picadilly Circus I” by Chryssa on the fourth floor.
