Mano Brown, the leader of Racionais MCs, celebrated his 54th birthday this Monday (22) night singing rap in the middle of a crowd in Capão Redondo, the neighborhood in the extreme south of São Paulo where he grew up.
“Strong hug, Vila Fundão, Capão”, he wrote in the caption of the video in which he appears singing “Vida Loka Pt 2”, by Racionais.
In addition to rap, the party had samba with a performance by Vai Vai’s drums. Brown paraded at the samba school at Carnival this year, with a theme paying homage to hip hop.
This Monday, Vai Vai paid tribute to the rapper saying that he is part of a special chapter at the school.
According to businesswoman Eliane Dias, married to Brown, he wanted to “start a new cycle, in the most loyal and sincere way, with only who he is”.
“It’s always worth knowing where it came from. I loved seeing people who are still going strong, living one day at a time,” he said.
Brown was in Capão alongside Eliane, her children and several residents of the neighborhood. One of the outside guests was state deputy Eduardo Suplicy (PT).
The artist will be one of the attractions at the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Chico Show, a project that celebrates black culture and held dances in São Paulo in the 1970s and 1980s. The festival in celebration is scheduled for July 13th, at Allianz Parque ,
