A light rehearsal with the presence of Madonna’s dancers and musicians on Thursday night (2) was a preview of the party that will be the singer’s show on Saturday (4) on Copacabana beach.
The audience cheered with different versions of “La Isla Bonita”, “Vogue” and “Music”: the diva’s pop sound mixed with funk and samba beats.
“It was incredible. I believe it will be one of the most exciting numbers of the show because it has everything to do with our rhythms”, said DJ Leo Monteiro, 31.
In addition to rhythmists from several samba schools in Rio, singer Pabllo Vittar performs in the medley with Madonna. But a surprise that the queen of pop was preparing for the show.
“I loved this version, even more so knowing that Pabllo Vittar performs with Madonna in a very Brazilian number,” said saleswoman Jessica Nascimento, 26.
Fan Natália Estrela dressed up as “Like a Virgin” to watch the sound check.
Two of Madonna’s daughters, Estere and Mercy, are expected to take part in the show. The youngest Estere, Stella’s twin, rehearsed the iconic choreography for “Vogue”, while Mercy plays the piano accompanying her mother on another track.
At around 8:30 pm, Madonna finally entered the stage. Wearing an all-black look with a yellow latex balaclava, the diva rehearsed the songs “Nothing Really Matters” and “Burning Up” and drove fans crazy.
