Actress Alice Wegmann challenged a criticism made by influencer Luciana Tranchesi about Madonna’s show. This Sunday (5), Tranchesi made a sequence of videos on Instagram in which she said that Madonna does not represent her values and that “there is no musical quality or professional achievement that justifies giving a stage to a figure like her”.
“What do you mean there is no professional achievement that justifies it?” asked Wegmann in the comments on the social network. “How much the woman revolutionized pop, she inspired all artists today, visually, musically. A story like this to erase or silence a woman like her who opens doors and helps talk about extremely important topics is sad.”
Wegmann continued: “You said there was a sad sexualization of women’s bodies. But it’s much better for a woman to take ownership of her desires and sexuality than for Justin Timberlake to beat a woman’s ass on stage.”
“It’s okay not to like it and not consume it! But saying that it didn’t happen is a lie”, added the actress.
Tranchesi countered that Wegmann “got it wrong.” “I said that no deed justifies… Not that there are no deeds. There are many, but, in my humble opinion, none of them justify using religious figures and sexualizing them”, wrote the influencer.
In the original video, Tranchesi began by saying that he knew he didn’t want to go to the show since the day it was announced. “She is not an icon for me. She has not represented me for many years. What surprised me was the number of theoretically well-informed people who were there or who were posting that they thought it was great that she was in Brazil”, she stated.
“With the critical thinking that I have, I refuse to give my approval, to be in environments like this, to sign under figures like her. May we begin, as a society, to think in a deeper, more criticism, more serious about who we are supporting, who we are spending our time with.”
“Don’t give a stage, don’t give morals to those who don’t represent your values, the values you want to pass on to your children, your family,” said Tranchesi in the video.
The influencer deleted the video criticizing Madonna after a few hours.
