Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks will star as sisters in Amazon Prime Video’s new thriller “The Better Sister,” based on Alafair Burke’s novel of the same name, according to Variety.

It’s the story of Chloe (Biel), who “travels around the world with her lawyer and handsome husband Adam and teenage son Ethan by her side as opposed to her struggling sister Nicky (Banks) on her own. According to the series description “when Adam is brutally murdered, the prime suspect shocks the family by revealing previously buried secrets.”

At the same time, they will also undertake the production of the project, which is a co-production of Tomorrow Studios and Amazon MGM Studios.

Directed by Craig Gillespie and part of the production with Annie Marter through Fortunate Jack Productions.

“In addition to being a riveting thriller full of twists and turns, ‘The Better Sister’ is a compelling story about family differences and forgiveness,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios.

The brilliant duo of Biel and Banks are sure to breathe life into these characters in the most authentic way along with the talented team at Tomorrow Studios.

It is noted that it is Biel’s second collaboration announced within a few weeks after the Peacock series “The Good Daughter”, based on the novel by Karin Slaughter.
