‘Old woman, my love? I’m rich and I have a lifetime contract with Globo’, says Susana Vieira

She says she never thought about having a biography, but now she does. In total, there were ten years of interviews with doctor in teledramaturgy Mauro Alencar, who focused on the career of Susana Vieira, 81, and also on the personal trajectory of Sônia Maria Vieira Gonçalves (the actress’s given name). The result is the recently released “Senhora do Meu Destino, A Biografia”, by Globo Livros.

A TV star for over 60 years, Susana has a strong personality and is known for her sharp tongue. However, she tells the F5 who has tried to be more cautious with her speeches — which doesn’t last long. Minutes later, she admits her lack of modesty and complains about ageism: “They call me old… Old, my love? I’m rich.” And also about no longer being called into productions: “They don’t cast me? It’s their problem, because I’m wonderful.”

Diagnosed with leukemia in 2017, Susana states that she is in good health and has learned to take cold showers since she discovered on the internet that this would be a trick to stay younger: “Take a cold shower, sleep a lot, walk for an hour… There are more two little things that I don’t remember. There’s nothing about sex”, jokes the owner of a lifetime contract with Globo. “Thank God, I’m loved by 133 million people, and the broadcaster itself knows who’s who on television,” she says.

BIOGRAPHY

“I never had the idea of ​​writing about myself. Never. Mauro Alencar, who is a great connoisseur of the history of Brazilian television, came up with this idea. He thought I was a wonderful star, an icon, an idol, an important person for the history of Brazilian television because I had played several characters that were important in the lives of Brazilian women. I was a divorcee, I was a mother of a gay man, I was a nanny, I was a warrior from the Northeast… in short… I agreed to write my biography.”

“Do you know when you think something is unnecessary? I thought there was no need to talk about some subjects and I wanted to make a light book, a pleasant book for my audience. And I believe it is. I’m talking about Brazilian television and, whoever wants to know the story, You’ll find out from me. I’ve been in the profession for over 60 years, guys! I’ve worked with the biggest actors on television, like Paulo Autran, Raul Cortez, José Wilker, Tony Ramos… Did I have an affair with any of them? Rubens de Falco and some actors I can’t name. “I’ve been a dancer, an actress and discovered myself as a writer (laughs). Now I want to write chronicles, talking about the government, but if I’m going to talk about the government it has to be in another country, right? But I also want to write about being a woman. I’m not going to use This ugly term, ageism, I think is boring, but about old age. They call me old, my love? I’m fine at Globo. wonderful.”

DIET

“I’ve never been on a diet in my life. Now I don’t feel like eating. And why? I’m anxious, nervous… My personal life is very good, but I’m agitated by the world, by the things we see that are happening. I Today I had so much stomach pain because I was watching that tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul the whole time. That’s unbelievable. If I were watching a horror movie, it wouldn’t be so horrible… And then I don’t really want to eat. sandwich with coffee with milk.”

FEAR OF BEING FORGOTTEN

“I’m not afraid of being forgotten because I have 450 thousand things on Globoplay. TV Globo, to stay alive, will have to put all these soap operas on the air, and the public will continue to watch us. Now that I’ve launched a book, I can’t be forgotten. Look, I’m going to call from heaven and tell the guys to put my book permanently in the window and never leave it again.”

LIFETIME CONTRACT

“It was during the last renewal, and I have to thank them for the kindness they showed me. I always gave all my commitment, my work, my joy… And I believe that Globo, in return, gave me a lifetime contract. Thanks To God, I am loved by 133 million people, and the network itself knows who is who on television. PROJECTS

I have a new apartment there and I want to look a little more at the sea there, even though I have a beautiful sea here. Apart from the play, I have to sell the book now, even if it’s on the beach (laughs).”

HEALTH

“My health is good. They told me that my disease is leukemia, it’s cancer. Now I’m in remission and I didn’t know that word existed. So, I’m in remission. What could that be? Is it getting better? “I exercise every day. I do RPG at a gym and I have a treadmill at home. I take turns exercising. I sleep a lot and wake up at one o’clock in the afternoon. I’m now learning to take a cold shower.
