The series of radio documentaries presented by Aris Portosalte with guest Mr. Konstantinos Koliopoulos is dedicated to the life of Napoleon Bonaparte. In the four shows that make it up, we will follow his journey from the French revolution to his coronation as Emperor of the French.

He is a controversial personality who was a brilliant general, politician, defender of freedoms, reformer and also the soldier who bled the whole of Europe.

In the broadcast of Sunday 12 May in the first part of this cycle of broadcasts the discussion started from the birth of Napoleon in 1769 in Corsica to a large family of lower noble class. After the French victory in Corsica his father left for France with two of his sons, where he entered the service of the French state. Napoleon in France continued his studies at the Military College of Brienne and acquired a number of varied interests. In the revolutionary period they were going through in France, he seized the opportunities that appeared to stand out and presented himself in Toulon where he successfully undertook the mission to expel the Englishman and made his name known to the decision-makers. He then acquired relations with political power and sought to go on new missions which he completed successfully.

Don’t miss the second part of SKAI 100.3’s historical radio documentary tribute to Napoleon Bonaparte on Sunday 19 May at 9am.

The scientific editor is Mr. Konstantinos Koliopoulos, professor of International Relations and Strategic Studies at the University of Piraeus.
