Gonçalo Roque, 87, auditorium director at SBT and partner of presenter Silvio Santos for 50 years, was hospitalized last Saturday night (18) after fainting in a restaurant in the south of São Paulo.
Roque was having lunch with his family, and after the incident, he was taken by his wife Janilda Nogueira to the Santa Elisa hospital, in Jundiaí, in the interior of São Paulo, where an intracranial bleed was detected.
“He is stable, undergoing more detailed tests, as when we arrived at the emergency room, X-rays were carried out,” said Roque’s wife in a note sent by the SBT press office.
“The doctors detected a small bleed in the frontal skull. He spent the night well”, concluded Janilda in the note. A new medical bulletin should be released in the next few hours.
It’s not the first time this has happened. In 2017, Roque was hospitalized to treat head problems, especially after hydrocephalus was detected.
Roque has worked with Silvio Santos since the 1970s and is, officially, the first employee of SBT, where he works to this day organizing the public to participate in auditorium programs.
Especially in the 1990s, Roque became famous for frequently appearing in the video during the famous program Topa Tudo por Dinheiro (1991-2001). Roque was also a politician and became a councilor in the city of Carapicuíba (SP) for three terms.
