The actress has a net worth of $95 million and a huge real estate portfolio
Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett decided – inexplicably – to “troll” her fans, stating that she belongs to the middle class, even though she has a fortune of 95 million dollars.
The 55-year-old Australian actress spoke during a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival where she discussed the importance of giving refugee filmmakers a space to tell their stories.
During this interview, the talented actress acknowledged that she is in a privileged position but left the audience speechless when she blurted out that she herself belongs to the middle class despite being a rich actress.
This is insane.
For every middle class, 95m USD Cate Blanchett, there are 1000’s of other white Cates that work minimum wage, work 60 plus hours a week, and raise their kids.
It’s such a fkn privilege. https://t.co/pRQasQjSu4

“I’m white, I’m privileged, I’m middle class, and I think someone might accuse me of having a bit of a ‘white savior’ complex.”, the actress said. However, many Australians and Americans were surprised that someone with a net worth of $95 million and a multinational property portfolio would consider himself “middle class”.

Understandably there was an uproar on social media, with some users writing: “Cate Blanchett who considers herself middle class makes me want to cry with laughter.”
