Dani Souza, who lived in Ukraine with Dentinho, regrets Russian attack on the country

Dani Souza, 39, who became nationally known for giving life to Mulher Samambaia on the TV show Pânico na TV, showed great sadness and concern about the war started by Vladimir Putin against Ukraine. Married to football player Dentinho, she lived in the country until last year, as her husband played for Shakhtar Donetsk – ex-Corinthians, he played for the Ukrainian club for almost ten years and returned to Brazil at the end of last year after not having renew the contract with the team.

“How awful! We always knew he could attack and take the city [Kiev] in a week! We left Ukraine, but our friends and everyone we know is in town!” she wrote on Instagram Stories.

Dani reposted video of Brazilian soccer players asking for help to leave Ukraine. “We need to help get these Brazilians out,” she said. Dentinho was also very concerned about the situation in the country and Brazilian athletes in the region.

After four months of crisis with the West, Russia decided to attack Ukraine this Thursday (24), in what Kiev and NATO (Western military alliance) called a total invasion. It is the most serious military crisis in Europe since World War II, and the biggest such operation since the United States invaded Iraq in 2003.

President Vladimir Putin went on TV to say he would carry out a “special military operation” in the Donbass, the ethnic Russian-majority area in the east of the neighbour. His military command, however, confirmed that “precision weapons are degrading the military infrastructure, air bases and aviation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces”.

There are explosions heard in various parts of the country and a shower of versions on social networks. There were reports from Kiev, later denied by the government, of Russian forces landing in Odessa, a major port on the Black Sea. In the city, according to the Ukrainian government, at least six people died in missile attacks.
