Bella Hadid supports Palestine amid the Israel-Gaza conflict. The famous model was photographed in Cannes in a dress bearing the designs of a ‘keffiyeh’ (keffiyeh), the traditional Palestinian headscarf.

The keffiyeh has become an iconic part of the Palestinian struggle for liberation, as well as a symbol of solidarity with the Palestinian people. In its fabric is embroidered the history of the Middle East and especially of Palestine.

The 27-year-old model, whose father is Palestinian real estate businessman Mohammed Hadid, wore a creation by Michael Sears and Hushi Mortezaie.

Bella Hadid had spoken about the Israel-Hamas war with her post on Instagram. More specifically, the model had revealed that she has been sent “hundreds of death threats, on a daily basis” and her family feels they are in danger, but refuses to remain silent.

“My heart bleeds from the pain, from the drama I see unfolding, as well as the generational trauma of my Palestinian blood,” she said. “I mourn with all the mothers who have lost their children and the children who cry alone, all the lost fathers, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, friends who will never walk this earth again.”

In fact, she explained some of the elements of her “Palestinian heritage” and why she has been supporting the “Free Palestine” movement for so many years. “It is important to understand the difficulties of what it means to be Palestinian, in a world that only sees us as terrorists who resist peace,” he pointed out. “It’s harmful, it’s embarrassing and it’s categorically untrue.”
