Jeremy Renner he is ready for a new “mission”. In an interview with Collider, the famous star revealed why he did not return to “Mission: Impossible” as William Brandt after appearing in the franchise’s ‘Ghost Protocol’ and ‘Rogue Nation’ movies.

“I had to leave. I was supposed to do more things with them. I love those guys,” Renner said of Tom Cruise and director Christopher Macquarie. “I love Tom so much. We had a great time”.

As for why he wasn’t involved in both “Fallout” and “Dead Reckoning,” the Hollywood star explained: “You needed to be away for quite some time. Everything was done in London. I had to be a dad as well and I wouldn’t have made it.”

Renner, who shares 11-year-old Ava with ex-wife Sunny Pacheco, isn’t ruling out an appearance in the future as the franchise continues and Mission: Impossible 8 is set to premiere in 2025.

“Maybe now that my daughter is older this could happen,” he said characteristically. “I would always go into a Mission: Impossible anytime. It’s wonderful”.

Renner currently stars as Mike McLusky in the new season of the Paramount+ drama series “Mayor of Kingstown.” A role he wasn’t sure he could reprise after his horrific snowplow accident in January 2023. Nevertheless, he embarked on a remarkable journey of recovery and returned to the show’s set a year later.
Season 3 of “Mayor of Kingstown” will be released on June 2.
