Summer has also arrived Netflix he made sure to keep us – once again – company. Science fiction films, romantic comedies, documentaries and cartoons for young and old are just some of what is expected to be released in the first month of summer. The new addictive Netflix originals, but also the new seasons of our favorite series, will force us to temporarily say goodbye to the beach in order to turn on our laptop and our air conditioner.

  • In the depths of the Seine

Sous la Seine, or in the Depths of the Seine, is the new and promising thriller by Xavier Gens. The French director, after the successes Taste of Flesh and The Divide, directs another horror film that is expected to captivate us. The play takes place during an event at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Mika, or Léa Léviant in real life, warns Sophia (Bérénice Béjo), a top scientist, that a shark has been spotted in the depths of the Seine. To save France’s capital from a bloodbath, Sophia has no choice but to join forces with police commander Adil (Nassim Lyes) and the main thing? To face her tragic past.

Netflix’s new documentary series explores the rise of Hitler and the Nazis, from the years leading up to World War II, to the Holocaust and the Nuremberg Trials. In an era where the Far Right, unfortunately, is holding on well and when fears about the imminent securing of third place in the European elections by far-right formations tend to come true, the documentary directed by Joe Berlinger, comes to project the raw truth with a single goal – to wake us up.

A new miniseries comes from South Korea to explore the power of authority and the relationships between students at Justin High School – home to the top 0.01%. Aimed at those who love drama and complicated intramural relationships, Hierarchy offers intrigue and suspense. The school’s hierarchy is disrupted when a new student mysteriously shatters the law and order the school’s elite have established, and that’s the start of it all. The cast of the protagonists consists of Ro-Jeong-eui, Lee Chae-min, Kim Jae-won.

With the end of the first part and the anticipation for the second and final one at an all-time high, Bridgerton deservedly holds the number one spot in Netflix series views, almost across the planet. With established promo videos featuring interviews with the protagonists constantly preoccupying, viewers’ insatiable need for a single spoiler, Bridgerton’s opulent world seems painfully distant. And although Netflix spoiled us by splitting a season of a few episodes into two parts after two years of patience, it made up for it, since in just a few days we will have the sequel we so long for.
