Today is Monday, June 3 2024 and time 18:00the submission of electronic applications of beneficiaries and providers for their participation in the “social tourism program workers-unemployed for the period 2024-2025″ of the Public Employment Service (DYPA).

The program will start on July 1, 2024 and will concern to 300,000 checks.

The check with which the participation process is carried out is one unique number for each beneficiary and each beneficiary separately.

In addition to accommodation in tourist accommodation, ferry tickets are also subsidised.

THE participation of beneficiaries amounts to 25%. For people with disabilities, ferry tickets are available free of charge.

Free and subsidized nights

– Beneficiaries can carry out up to six nights in a tourist accommodation that they choose from the “Register of Providers” of DYPA, after their consultation with the provider, with little private participation.

– Especially, to Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos and Samoscan be realized up to 10 nights free (zero private participation)

– In the municipalities Istiaia-Edipsos and Mantoudio-Limni-Ag. Anna of N. Evia and Evroscan be realized up to 12 nights freeto which this year is added Thessalyexcept the Sporades.

The subsidy

Subsidized prices remain increased by 20% for the peak month of August, with a corresponding subsidy of 20% for the Christmas (from 15/12/2024 to 14/01/2025) and Easter (from 11/04/2025) periods until 27/04/2025).

The increased subsidy is valid for the whole year for the accommodation of N. Evia, Evros and Thessaly, except for the Sporades.

As stated in a relevant announcement, the program provides special scoring for single parents and for Disabled and increased scoring for lower income beneficiaries.

Also, the possibility of participation is provided for the disabled every year, the right of an escort and zero private participation in the ferry tickets, while no penalty is imposed on them if they do not use their cheques.

For parents, increased points are provided for each minor child.

This year, those citizens who have not received checks in the past or did not receive a check due to being scored in the last two programs are being scored.

In addition, a register of providers is created, in which the providers of the previous year automatically participate.

Beneficiaries are:

– employees with a dependent employment relationship under private law at the end of the deadline for submitting applications or

– insured in the e-EFKA in their professional category with contributions in favor of the unemployment branch of DYPA at any time between 01/01/2023 and the day before the application deadline or

– unemployed with a continuous unemployment period of at least three months on the application deadline.

The family income cannot exceed 30,000 euros, while for the long-term unemployed (12 or more months of unemployment) the income cannot exceed 16,000 euros for the unmarried, 24,000 euros for the married, (increased by 5,000 euros per child ) or 29,000 euros for single-parent families, (increased by 5,000 euros for each child, after the first).

How to apply

Applications will be submitted exclusively online, through gov.gr, with TAXISnet codes, at the online address: https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/ergasia-kai-asphalise/apozemioseis-kai-parokhes/koinonikos-tourismos.

Specifically, the route is: Home – Work and insurance – Compensation and Benefits – Social Tourism Programs (STP).

The platform will be opened gradually depending on the last digit of the TIN of the interested beneficiaries until 09/06/2024 at 23:59 as follows:

Last digit of VAT number: 0 – Date: 03/06 & 04/06

Last digit of VAT number: 1 – Date: 05/06 & 06/06

Last digit of VAT number: 2,3,4 – Date: 07/06

Last digit of VAT number: 4,5,6 – Date: 08/06

Last digit of VAT number: 7,8,9 – Date: 09/06

The selection of the beneficiaries is based on the scoring of specific criteria (disabled, single parent, number of children, income, first time participation in the program), in an objective and transparent manner, through the Integrated Information System (IPS) of DYPA.

It is noted that employees and unemployed people who are subsidized for their participation in a social tourism program of any other organization for the same period and those, other than the disabled, who received a check in the 2023-2024 program, cannot participate in the program.

The supporting documents related to the conditions of participation or the scoring of the beneficiaries are sought ex officio. In those cases where supporting documents are required, due to the inability to search ex officio, these are attached to the applications.

Examples

Example 1

A family of 4 chooses to stay in Crete from 01/07/2024 in a 5-star hotel with breakfast for 6 nights.

He will get a subsidy for the hotel 840 euros (4 people X 6 nights X 35 euros).

For the coastal ferries, with a price of 100 euros round trip, 200 euros (50 X 4).

Total 1,040 euros.

If the stay is set in August, the subsidy will be increased by 20% and will be 1,008 euros for the hotel (42 euros X 4 people X 6 nights).

Example 2

A family of 4 chooses Northern Evia for the same hotel category for 12 nights.

He will get a subsidy of 2,688 euros (56 euros X 4 people X 12 nights).

If he chooses to stay in a 3-star hotel, he will get a subsidy of 2,064 euros (43 euros X 4 people X 12 nights).

For providers

Providers of the program are tourist accommodation and ferry companies.

The applications of the interested providers will be submitted exclusively online, through gov.gr, with TAXISnet codes, at the online address: https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/ergasia-kai-asphalise/apozemioseis-kai-parokhes/parohoi-tourismou .

The route is: Home – Work and insurance – Compensation and Benefits – Social Tourism Providers.

From this year, providers from the previous year will automatically be included in the Register of Providers, as long as they update their participation documents.

The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Domna Michailidou, said: “Social tourism 2024 with a budget higher than ever! On Monday we open the applications, so that 300,000 of our fellow citizens have the opportunity to enjoy the Greek summer completely free of charge or at very little financial cost. We have not only managed to increase the budget, but to quintuple it in recent years. To triple the number of beneficiaries, to increase the duration of the vacation from 5 to 6 days, to subsidize the ferry tickets and to reduce what our fellow citizens pay for this program. But we didn’t stop there. Gradually, we changed the structure of the program and strengthened its social dimension. The program provides for special quotas for people with disabilities and their companions, for single-parent families and families with many children. A component of the program is the support to our fellow citizens in the areas affected by natural disasters. Families visiting them will pay nothing, entrepreneurs will be subsidized more and vacations will last even longer, reaching 12 days. Monday, therefore, we open the program and you can simply and electronically apply”.

For his part, the commander of DYPA, Spyros Protopsaltis, noted: “For another year, hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens and their families will go on vacation either for free or with a small participation with the social tourism program. It is a valuable tool of social, but also economic policy, with multiplier benefits, through which both human resources and businesses are supported”.
