With the presentation of the concert of Anne-Zophie Mutter and Mutter’s Virtuosi on the screen of the Garden, on Monday July 8 at 8:30 p.m., the summer screenings at the outdoor music cinema of the Athens Concert Hall, which are held in collaboration with UNITEL, come to an end .

Anne-Zophie Mutter

In this musical meeting with the audience of the Musikferain in Vienna, the famous German violinist, in the double role of soloist and conductor, collaborates with talented virtuosos of the new generation who studied or are studying at the “Anne-Sophie Mutter” Foundation. For years, the leading violin soloist has been performing with them in order to familiarize them with the life of a professional musician and introduce them to the wider public. In the spring of 2011, she launched the program “Mutter’s Virtuosi” and created, under her own musical direction, a figure composed of current and former scholarship holders of the “Anne-Sophie Mutter” Foundation as well as other young soloists.

Their concert program in the historic Viennese hall includes iconic works of pre-classical music, such as the Brandenburg Concerto no. 3 and the Violin Concerto no. 1 by Johann Sebastian Bach, but also “Summer” from Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The Concerto for three violins in F major, also by Vivaldi, and the Violin Concerto in A major by Joseph Bologna will also be heard. In addition, in the same concert, Anne-Zophie Mutter and her virtuosos will perform Andre Prévin’s Nonetto, commissioned for Mutter’s Virtuosi, as well as the composition “Nice To Be Around” (version for solo violin and string orchestra) by John Williams, inspired by the main theme of his Oscar-winning film score for Schindler’s List.

Entry for the public is free (with reservation on the Megaros website). Events in the Garden are sponsored by Motor Oil.
