Through meetings, excursions in North Evia, yoga in nature and a specially designed self-awareness workshop, the Agora of the 3rd Evia Film Project, the green initiative of the Thessaloniki Film Festival, focuses on our need for decompression and communication.

This year, the Market is developing in four axes: Mind, Body, Spirit and Exploration.

Driven by sustainability, the Market implements an innovative circular economy model, inviting professionals to discover or reconnect with Greek projects that have been presented at the Thessaloniki Film Festival and Thessaloniki Documentary Festival Markets in the past.

The Evia Film Project gives the Accredited of the Agora the space, but also the time, to connect with each other and with the environment and enjoy “slow networking”, offering a professional and at the same time human experience. They will have the opportunity to meet in the relaxed atmosphere of Northern Evia, attend open discussions and project presentations, as well as a workshop organized by holistic therapist Elena Christopoulou entitled “Experiential workshop – Calm in the middle of a storm: An inner compass in difficult times” .

CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator 2024

The 3rd Evia Film Project hosts for the second time the “CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator”, a one-of-a-kind documentary development workshop aimed at women and femininities involved in film directing and production.

CIRCLE is a unique international educational initiative and offers a safe space for female filmmakers working in both documentary and fiction. It consists of the Women Doc Accelerator, a year-round training event open to projects and professionals at all stages of production, and the Fiction Orbit, an intensive workshop dedicated to established female directors with new projects in the script development stage. Both programs support projects with a strong international impact at various stages of film production, while also acting as a trigger for cooperation between countries.

Its main mission is the empowerment of women in the film sector and the strengthening of the visibility of female creators and directors in the wider Europe and the rest of the world.

Ten participants from around the world will attend the Evia Film Project, work with recognized professionals and receive expert guidance on developing their projects and developing their careers. As part of the program, the CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator organizes different masterclasses addressed to female participants and closed to the general public, as well as the presentation of a case study open to the EFP3 public.

Heidi Fleischer (producer and consultant), Bridget O’Shea (president of the European Documentary Union DAE, consultant), Joanna Solecka (strategist in film marketing), Dana Bunescu (film and sound editor) will be the tutors.

Director Lin Aluna (Twice Colonized) will be in North Evia, a guest of the CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator for an open discussion about her film, which will be screened as part of the 3rd Evia Film Project. CIRCLE is supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA program and organized under the auspices of EURIMAGES.
