Darren Mitropoulos – who also owns the former Playboy mansion in Los Angeles – bought Casa Amado for $148 million
At 40 years old Darren Mitropoulos – son of the Greek-American billionaire investor Nin Mitropoulos – now owns the famous Casa Amado in Palm Beach, California.
According to mansionglobal, the businessman and investor bought the 1919 mansion – a landmark in the area – for 148 million dollars from the family of the late Canadian businessman William Penser.
Amado was designed by noted architect Addison Mizner and built by businessman Charles A. Moon.
The mansion 2,136 square meters on a plot of 13 acres, has 10 bedroomsgym and cinema room, swimming pool and tennis court while it has a frontage of 67 meters on the Atlantic ocean.
In a statement, the businessman said the property is one of Palm Beach’s “most historic architectural treasures” and that “I am delighted to continue the tradition of preserving this gem as a true retreat and ensuring that the classic charm and its elegance will continue to last.”
In 2016, Darren Mitropoulos bought it for $100 million former Playboy mansion Hugh Hefner (with whom they were neighbors) in Los Angeles.
According to public records, it was the most expensive sale in LA to date.
