Learn how to know if you can use it this summer!
Every year, when the time approaches for the first swim in the sea, our favorite products make their reappearance and take their place again in our summer toiletry. But every summer there is one question on our mind: Can we use last year’s sunscreen again this year? Like most cosmetic products, sunscreen has an expiration date, which is the first thing we look at and follow without a second thought.

If you wonder why, the answer is that as soon as the use-by date has passed, the sunscreen factor is reduced to a great extent, as a result of which it does not protect the skin from UV rays, something that we definitely do not want not only in summer, but also in winter ( we need sun protection all year round to protect our skin from the dangers posed by constant exposure to the sun).

How will we know the expiry date of our sunscreen?

On the back of the sunscreens, there is a logo of a small open jar with a number and a letter inside that indicates the shelf life of the product. If it says “12M”, it can be kept up to 12 months after opening. While most sunscreen products expire within a year, some only last six or eight months. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the date on each product.

Beauty Note: Do not under any circumstances think that there is a product left over from last year, so you must use it again this year until it runs out. We always think about the expiry date and not the amount of product left, because the health of the skin is more important than the little product that will be left.
