Jeremy Renner told fans that the prospects for his career after the accident he suffered in 2023 are not hopeful. In an interview with the SmartLess podcast, the actor confessed that he no longer had the energy or fuel to embrace complex projects and difficult characters.
“I need all my energy to exist in this reality, in this body. I can’t drop everything and go play pretend at this moment in my life, because all my concentration is on the act of existing in the present, with thoughts positive, constantly growing,” he said, who broke more than 30 bones in the accident.
In the cast of the third season of “The Owner of Kingstown” (Prime Video), the actor said that he agreed to continue as Mike McLusky because he already knew the job: “It’s a character that I know how to do well, that I already know very well, so it was easier to return to inhabit it.”
“However, if a more challenging project comes my way, I won’t be able to embrace it. Of course, every production has its challenges, but I’m speaking in a more general sense — if I had to play Dahmer [o assassino Jeffrey Dahmer], for example, would be something very far from me. I couldn’t do it,” he said.
Jeremy spent months recovering from the New Year’s 2023 accident when he was run over by a snowplow in the mountains of Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The actor broke more than 30 bones, underwent two surgeries and tried “all types of therapy” to recover.
