‘I’m shy and sexually embarrassed’, says Luísa Sonza, who says she only flirts on stage

Luísa Sonza, 25, says she was uncomfortable with the nude scenes she starred in in the short film “Escândalo Íntimo – O Filme”, ​​which she released to promote her latest album. “I am shy and sexually embarrassed, even though my songs talk about sex,” she said.

“I think it’s a way of empowering myself. I don’t like that whole performative sex thing. I think I only know how to flirt by singing (laughs),” the singer said in an interview with the newspaper O Globo. “When I’m single, I don’t flirt, I get straight to the point. Why do you think anyone approaches me? People are scared to death of being with me.”

Openly bisexual, she also spoke about the fact that she has never publicly dated a woman. Her most notable relationships were with Whindersson Nunes, Vitão and Chico Moedas. She is currently dating Portuguese doctor Luis Ribeirinho.

“Now, I’m dating. So, I don’t even think about it. But I’ve been in love, I’ve had affairs with women,” he said. “I don’t talk about it so much because I’m afraid of people taking it out of context. There’s pressure, people label me, they say I’m a ‘party bisexual’. I’ve always tended to have relationships with men, even because of my family’s prejudice, because of fear of many things. We end up blocking our feelings. But now I’m happy.”

In the interview, Sonza also spoke about the deep depression she suffered. “I almost completely lost all care for myself,” she commented. She also said that the documentary “Se Eu fosse Luísa Sonza” was recorded at the height of her illness, but that she is now better.

“I see a psychiatrist and I take medication,” she revealed. “Many people hate medication, but sometimes the brain’s chemistry is out of whack. So, for a while, medication is important. Too much of it can be really harmful. I had a period when I needed a lot of medication. Today, I don’t take even half of what I used to take and I go to therapy. I’ve never been so calm.”
