Box office champion, Cher’s ex-affair: curiosities about Tom Cruise, who turns 62

Tom Cruise is celebrating his birthday today. The American actor turns 62 this Wednesday (3) and is often remembered for his action sequences in film franchises such as “Mission: Impossible” and “Top Gun”. The scenes in which we see the artist climbing a building or jumping off a cliff, for example, are filmed by himself, without the help of a stunt double.

The reason? “Curiosity and a desire to learn every day from the profession,” he said in an interview with Fantástico (Globo) in 2023. If today he is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, in his childhood the scenario was different. Learning difficulties and integration are remembered by Cruise as memories of school. He is dyslexic and says that the diagnosis made him feel “stupid and angry.”

Interestingly, it was dyslexia that, in a way, brought him closer to Cher, with whom he had a fling in the 1980s. Currently without having a public relationship, Cruise has been married three times and has three children: Isabella and Connor, with Nicole Kidman, a union that lasted eleven years, from 1990 to 2001, and Suri, from his relationship with Katie Holmes. The girl has just turned 18 and chose not to use her father’s surname. He and the teenager have a difficult, almost non-existent relationship.
