The youngest son of Yiannis Parios and Sofia Alibertis is revealed
For several years now, Nikolas Varthakouris has been charting his own musical path completely different from that of his super-famous father, Yiannis Parios, and his successful composer and singer brother, Haris.
Good Job Nicky, as his stage name is, speaking on Anna Maria Velli’s “Opinion” podcast revealed a lot about the health problems he had as a child, the phobias and panic attacks he overcame:
“I’m not afraid to play in front of 25,000, but I won’t get into an elevator in Greece. I have claustrophobia, meaning not being able to leave the space. I get on planeshe said initially and continued by analyzing the problems he faces:
“Pseudodysphagia is not autoimmune. There is dysphagia and pseudodysphagia, the difference is that the latter is cerebral. It’s in your head. The symptoms of both are exactly the same. I feel that the only way to deal with panic attacks is to have a good supportive environment, to have people who love and respect you by your side. But not to an extreme degree.”
The second is to gradually expose yourself to the fears you have so you can get used to them and demystify them and the third for me is why the panic attack is there. Because your body is trying to tell you something, it is asking for some change.
Phobias through seizures are not necessarily the reason you get them. When you look yourself in the face and start talking a little, without egos the sooner you accept it the sooner the panic attack works as a compass».
While as he revealed his subjects started from his childhood: “It started from a young age, I had severe allergies. I was also suffering from anaphylaxis! It is an allergy that I would not like to say, it is rare. Luckily it passed. It came out when I was 13 and plagued me from adolescence to early adulthood.
I have had three anaphylaxis in my life and it was my fear. I was picked on, I was very ignorant of danger, and I did stupid things non-stop. But that kind of put the brakes on me. This is the root!».
Still, Good Job Nicky described a severe panic attack he had while driving and how he dealt with it: “I was returning from a house, I was in the car on Attiki Odos, it had lights. I’m driving, the car is making too much noise and I’m sitting there thinking “You’re going to die”.
Then the thought hit me: Have an allergic shock. My legs are cut, my limbs are numb. I didn’t know where I was. I didn’t know what was happening to me. It was the first time I recognized that it was a panic attack. I was a long way from home and I was shouting to myself: If you’re going to die, you’re going to get home first and then die!”.
Finally, he stated that he is interested in representing our country at Eurovision – he already tried once but did not sit – and humorously says that if he goes, he will come out first!
