Actress Shannen Doherty, known for her participation in the series “Beverly Hills, 90210”, died this Saturday (13), at the age of 53. Afflicted with breast cancer nine years ago, the artist donated her belongings already projecting that she would not have such a long life.
In April, Doherty said on the Let’s Be Clear podcast that she had already started selling and donating personal items, as her idea was to save her mother from further worries.
Shannen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and saw the disease go into remission in 2017. Three years later, the tumor returned. In November of last year, the actress who plays Brenda revealed that her disease was in an advanced stage.
“My priority right now is my mother. I know it will be hard for her if I die before then. Since I know it will be hard for her, I want the rest to be easier. I don’t want her to have to deal with a lot of things,” he said in the episode.
More recently, in June, she lamented the fact that she may not be able to date anyone anymore. “I think it’s hard for someone like me. It’s hard to date someone when you know that they might have an expiration date,” she told the Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast.
Doherty rose to stardom in 1990 when she played Brenda Walsh in Beverly Hills, 90210. The character was part of an outsider family who had recently moved from Minnesota to Beverly Hills. The series was a huge success and became a classic of the 1990s.
