Professors Thanos Veremis and Antonis Klapsis discuss with Aris Portosalte about the old continent during the years of the first and second industrial revolutions that introduced humanity to the modern era.

On the show of Sunday July 7 the discussion started with the Austrian diplomat and foreign minister of the Austrian Empire Metternich, who defined diplomatic developments in Europe for almost half a century. The debate continued on Romanticism and the birth of Nationalism. Nationalism or Nationalism of the 19th century is the perception of the people that there should be a liberation, it is a revolutionary ideology for liberation from the yoke of multinational empires and the creation of nation states. The speakers also referred to the Greek Revolution which inherited the concept of nation from the Greeks of the diaspora while they also discussed the personalities who stood out in the Liberation struggle of the Greek Revolution, its evolution as well as the position of the Great Powers. The Ottoman Empire is now the great patient of Europe and occupied European diplomacy until the first World War.
