On the occasion of the release of her new song “Hyperphenomeno” the Demy returning he gave an interview to Antivirus and it was particularly interesting and revealing.

-How would you comment on your career so far?

“I think it is difficult to comment and judge yourself “from the inside” of your artistic career. In an attempt to do so at this time, I will say that I notice that from the beginning I was not afraid to be different in my own way and to make my own way, even if it is not always the easiest, whether that has to do with it does with the live performances (musical vs bouzouki) either with my sound or with my outfit.

Most years are characterized by this, except for a time when I kind of stopped listening to my gut and let outside voices confuse me. I think the confusion is in the program, it is useful and leads somewhere. This somewhere is where I am now. I have more courage than ever to do what I love the way I want to do it.”

-Which parts of this career made you what you are -artistically- today and what new elements are “inaugurated” with this new song?

“Like I said before, I think it’s more of a ‘return’ to my center and my true self than anything brand new. Speaking more on a psychoanalytical level, of course, because I believe that this is also reflected in the music.

I believe that everything that has happened so far has made me what I am today and everything is needed, the difficulties, the failures and the introversion for some time, in order to regenerate something new”.

-As an artist who has also represented our country at Eurovision, what is your opinion regarding the intense political dimensions (or not) that the event had this year?

“I consider that the Eurovision organizers were the first of all to give a political character through some choices and decisions they made this year. Personally, I would like to see more freedom of political-social expression from the artists themselves at Eurovision.”
