Nicolas Prattes, 27, will participate in the 2024 Olympics. The actor is not part of the Brazilian athletics team, but will run the 2024 Paris Olympic Marathon. He was chosen to participate in the race, which is approximately 42 km long, an unprecedented initiative that the organizers of the games are providing to amateur athletes from all over the world.
“I’m going to run the 2024 Paris Olympic Marathon. I don’t even know what to say, I just want to enjoy this moment, celebrate life and live this dream,” Nicolas celebrated on social media. He is one of the protagonists of “Mania de Você”, Globo’s next 9pm soap opera.
The race will take place on August 10, the same date as the marathon, which will be awarded medals. While the elite group will start in the morning, the amateurs will take part in the race at night.
The event is part of the Marathon for All project, in which 40,048 athletes were selected based on good results in some official races, points with daily exercise challenges and draws. Half of them will run the 42.195 km (Nicolas’ route) and the other group will compete in the 10 km course.
In April, the Brazilian actor took part in the Paris Marathon and was overcome with emotion at the end of the race. “It’s very special. I wish everyone could feel what I’m feeling right now,” said Nicolas, who will meet his girlfriend Sabrina Sato in the French capital. The presenter is the godmother of the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB), and will be supporting Brazilian athletes at the Olympics.
