Former player and current member of the women’s volleyball team’s coaching staff, Sheilla Castro said on her social media that she no longer knows if she will go to the Olympics. After opening a question box on Instagram, she answered followers about going to Paris.
“My ticket was purchased since February 2 for Wednesday (24), but unfortunately, my mother is not well, as you know. I still don’t know. It was postponed. [viagem]but there is a possibility that I won’t go. It’s open,” he said.
She had not been seen at the team’s training camp in Saquarema (RJ) since July 8. She was a member of the technical committee and her name was involved in a controversy that ended up being one of the most talked about topics on social media.
On July 7, one day before leaving the training camp, a fake profile came to light that had allegedly been created by Sheilla to speak badly of her ex-girlfriend, player Gabi Guimarães.
The two recently ended their low-key romance amid arguments and alleged betrayal. Internet users were concerned that the dispute could affect the team’s performance at the Paris Olympics.
When contacted, the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation stated at the time that Sheilla would not participate in person in this phase of training in Saquarema, but did not explain whether the reason had to do with the controversy. “She continues to be part of the women’s team’s coaching staff,” it said.
Regarding the trip to the Games, the CBV said that “Sheilla’s trip to Paris was not scheduled. Just as Serginho’s trip with the men’s team is not scheduled. Neither of them are accredited by the CBV for the Olympic Games.”
