From a circle of friends, to make a sound on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro, the DDP Directorate was born, a group that mixes samba and pagode with other musical genres. They were the first attraction at the closing of the City Carnival this Tuesday (1st), at the Jockey Club, in São Paulo.
“We started with these rhythms, but the DDP Board likes to add them. It’s our roots in lual, bringing people together and each one sending a song”, said PB, one of the members of the group, also composed by Boni, Dudu , I say and Johnny.
They did a show that mixed covers in a pagode version, like a song by the duo Sandy & Junior, and some of their own songs.
“We are happy with the affection of the fans, because we are reaping the fruits of our effort. We created the group because of our passion for music and how it can transform people’s energy. Today, in this show, we want the public to feel this with us”, reinforced Boni, in an interview with F5 before the presentation. The musician’s request was successfully answered, as the crowd sambaed a lot, even with the beginning of drizzle in the capital of São Paulo.
For this year, the group plans to release six songs in partnerships with various artists. One of them is now available on digital platforms, “Arrasta pra cima”, made with Mumuzinho. “It’s a pleasure to see our growth and these partnerships that are emerging. And it doesn’t stop there, because we’re going to make a sound with the country people, the rap. Wait, it’s going to be very cool”, said Dudu.
