The city of Imperatriz, in Maranhão, stopped once again to welcome Rayssa Leal, 16, after yet another sporting achievement. Bronze medalist at the 2024 Olympics, the skateboarder arrived early Tuesday evening (13) at Prefeito Renato Moreira Airport and received a warm welcome from her fellow countrymen.

Rayssa paraded on top of a fire truck with her family and close friends. She was applauded by the crowd that followed the motorcade and in the records, the athlete appears dancing and interacting with fans to the sound of “A Favela Vai Virar Baile”, by MC Nau, Rodrigo do CN & MC RF.

Before arriving in Imperatriz, the skater talked about the city’s tribute and made sure to thank the organizers. Rayssa Leal returned to school on Wednesday morning (14), where she received more tributes, including from the Brazilian Army’s musical band in the courtyard of Colégio Cebama.

She is in her second year of high school and her photo wall at the school entrance was also updated with her bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. Rayssa broke another record for world Olympic sports by becoming the youngest person in history, among men and women, to reach the podium in two different Olympics. She had already won silver in Tokyo 2020 in street skateboarding.
