Daughters of Gugu Liberato (1959-2019), twins Sofia and Marina shared a rare photo with their grandmother, Maria do Céu Moraes, 94, on Instagram stories this Tuesday (13). In the image, the mother of the former Record presenter, who died after suffering a domestic accident in Orlando, United States, four years ago – appears smiling next to her granddaughters and holding a puppy.
“Today was the day to visit my beautiful grandma,” the twins wrote in the post. The two, who live in the United States, are spending a few days in Brazil. They are staying at a hotel in São Paulo.
Maria do Céu has been receiving a monthly pension of R$163,000 since the death of Gugu, who left behind an estimated fortune of R$1 billion. In his will, he stipulated that 75% of his assets would go to his children – 25% for each – and that the other 25% would be divided among his five nephews.
Rose Miriam, the mother of the presenter’s children, was left out of the will and is fighting in court for the right to the inheritance as a common-law partner, which the family says means that the two did not have a relationship as husband and wife. Sofia and Marina defend their mother and João Augusto sided with his aunt Aparecida Liberato, who is the executor of the presenter’s estate.
