Slipknot announced that their upcoming concerts in July in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus will be postponed due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The metal band posted the news on social media, saying that new dates will be set for the three postponed concerts in Kyiv, Moscow and Minsk.
Slipknot looks set to continue the rest of their summer tour in Europe as planned.
“We were looking forward to seeing our fans again in these incredible cities, to meeting after the global lockdown. “But we are taking this step to support our community and in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, for whom the struggle continues, in a new and more formidable form,” the group said.
“We also recognize that the vast majority of our Russian and Belarusian fans are united with the Ukrainians in their struggle for peace. “The safety and well-being of our global families is, and always will be, our number one priority,” Slipknot notes.
The band leader Corey Taylor also shared a message for Ukrainian Slipknot fans in a video in which he appears with his son: “We want to send our love, best wishes to all our family and friends in Ukraine. Stay strong, we are with you, we are by your side and we think of you. Hope to see you soon. “Stay strong.”
