Bebe Rexha, the famous singer who was born in the USA to Albanian parents, claims she was threatened and “psychologically abused” by an employee at Munich Airport because she was Albanian.

The 34-year-old posted a tearful video on Instagram, with the caption: “They threatened me because I thought the security agent was Albanian. I spoke to him in Albanian asking where to get my ticket and now he is denying me the flight.”

In Saturday’s post to her 12 million followers, she said she believed the incident was a “hate crime” because of her ethnicity.

Rexha claimed that the male staff member refused to give his name and “kept mentally abusing me” and that the female staff did not intervene.

The star, who has collaborated with Rita Ora and Louis Tomlinson and had her song I’m Good a UK No.1 with David Guetta, claimed the man works for a company that provides services for Lufthansa.

The German airline, according to Skynews, said it was trying to “understand the situation” and “does not tolerate any kind of discriminatory behaviour”.

“We have reached out to Bebe Rexha and are in direct contact with her to understand the situation,” a spokesperson said.

“As an international airline, we connect people and countries around the world. Our visitors and employees come from all over the world,” the spokesperson added.
