The secretary of the Italian center-left trade union Cgil, Maurizio Ladini, in a televised interview emphasized that the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni “restricted herself to being Trump’s partner and did not lift a finger, but fortunately the workers demonstrated and saved the reputation of Italy”. It is noted that an ancient, parallel meaning of the word used by Ladini is “courtly”.

In her post on “X”, Meloni responded to the Italian trade unionist:

“Cgil union secretary Maurizio Ladini, apparently clouded by a growing grudge (which I understand) called me a ‘slut’ on TV. I think everyone knows the meaning of that word.”

“See a wonderful picture of the Left. For decades it has offered us moral lessons about respecting women, but then, to criticize a woman – with no arguments – calls her a whore.”

The secretary of the Cgil union, in turn, responded to the head of the government of Rome: “in a TV show on the subject of developments in the Middle East, when I used this expression, I immediately made it clear that Meloni was Trump’s courtier, followed his course, acted as his secretary. I expressed a political judgment on the insufficient role of the Italian government and the prime minister her”.
