Marcos Oliveira, known for playing the character “Beiçola” for 14 years in the series “A Grande Família” on Globo, last worked on the soap opera “Deus Salve o Rei” (2018). Since then, the actor has been facing a serious financial crisis and recently received a new eviction order for failure to pay three months’ rent for an apartment in Botafogo, in the south zone of Rio.
Oliveira has 10 days to leave the property. “I’m in a panic, I’m helpless and apathetic. I have to leave and I don’t know where I’m going. It takes two years to arrest criminals, but it takes minutes to evict them,” lamented the actor. “I’m broke and I can’t rent anything in my name. I don’t know what’s going to happen from now on,” said the actor, who owes a little over R$12,000 to the apartment owner, in an interview with Globo.
This is not the first time the actor has received an eviction notice. Early last year, he was told he had to leave due to late rent payments, but he was able to reverse the situation thanks to a $50,000 donation from lawyer and influencer Deolane Bezerra, who helped him pay off his debts.
The actor’s lawyer, Rose Scalco, contacted Marcos’ apartment landlord to close a new deal, but received no response.
Last year, the Retiro dos Artistas, in Rio’s west zone, reserved a house for the actor. However, the institution accepts one dog and Marcos has three: Mel, Preta and Lolita. “The only things I have in life are my dogs and I’m not going to leave them. We’re trying to resolve this. I think the Retiro dos Artistas could be an option,” he said.
