Amid the turbulent process of her divorce from Brad Pitt, which has been going on for eight years, Angelina Jolie has said that she no longer wants to live in the United States. The actress and director intends to move soon to Cambodia, where her firstborn, Maddox, 23, was born.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the actress confessed that she only lives in her home country due to shared custody of her two youngest children, who are still minors, with her ex. The twins Vivienne and Knox are 16 years old.

“I have to live in Los Angeles because of the divorce. But as soon as they turn 18, we’ll be free to leave,” said Angelina, star of the film “Maria,” which just premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

The actress said she hopes to find peace and quiet in the Asian country. “When you have a big family, all you want is privacy, peace and security. The humanity I’ve encountered around the world is different from the one I grew up with here,” she said of her hometown of Los Angeles.

Despite shared custody, the children’s relationship with Brad Pitt is turbulent. Recently, one of the daughters, Shiloh, 18, dropped her father’s surname. Angelina and her ex are also parents to Pax, 20, and Zahara, 19.
