Sundays at the Museum are back with the start of family and school educational programs
The Maria Callas Museum commemorates the death anniversary of the great lyrical artist with a free concert by the woodwind trio ARUNDOS of the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens.
Participating in the celebration of European Cultural Heritage Days, the Museum offers free entry to visitors on September 29 from 17:00 – 20:00, while on the same day it organizes the action “The Lights Aimed at the Light” in collaboration with the Industrial Museum of Fotaeri.
Sundays at the Museum are back with the start of family and school educational programs and specifically with the first family educational program of the year “Shall we dance Traviata?” On Saturdays and Sundays, children of all ages create their own souvenir inspired by Maria Callas with the technique stencil.Finally, the free guided tours in English continue on the last two Wednesdays of September.

The Lights Aimed at the Light Speech and Workshop. The Maria Callas Museum and the Industrial Gas Museum jointly celebrate the European Cultural Heritage Days 2024 with a special, glamorous event! A kerosene lamp from the beginning of the 20th century and a book of practices of the lampmen who worked at the kerosene factory in Gazi, “move” from the Industrial Gas Museum to the Maria Callas Museum and “shed light” on the evolution of the Art of Lighting in the theater, through expert talks but also an experiential workshop for adults. Find all the details on our site and organize your visit! Are we dancing Traviata? Creative movement workshop for children aged 2.5 – 5 years. Sunday, September 15. Giving rhythm to the images…Giuseppe Verdi’s well-known work, La Traviata, will take children and attendants to the world of opera, unfolding the art of dance and movement. An educational program of creative movement where children and chaperones give rhythm to the scenes of the play. With the body as a means of expression, the frozen images acquire movement, with the intention that the participants perceive the flow of the body and choreograph the work with their own imagination. Participants will work in groups. Ages: 2.5 – 5 years. Total number of participants: 20 children. Participation fee: 7 euros per child and 3 euros per companion. Create your own carte postale! Happening for young and old. Every Saturday and Sunday 11:00 – 14:30 am. Where will your carte postale travel? On Saturdays and Sundays in September, from 11:00 to 14:30 am, we create our own commemorative carte postale with the portrait of Maria Callas using the stencil technique. In this open, entertaining activity, young and old will get to know the great opera diva through an artistic process full of colors and imagination. Leaving, they will have a unique souvenir, which will remind them of this special meeting with their own Maria Callas. Participation will be free and no reservation is required. The event will take place at a special stand in Mitropoleos Square (Mitropoleos 45), directly opposite the entrance to the Museum.
