Vicky Leandros: Out of court by her father – She is forbidden to sing his songs

Now four days later, before the big farewell concert of Vicky Leandros at Herodeion, with an announcement Leandros Leandros, who in recent years has been preparing his biography with the journalist and writer Yiannis Vitsa, publicly announces that he has sent out of court to his daughter and forbids her to sing his songs. And they are the biggest hits of her career among them and the Eurovision winning song “Après toi”.

“I was blessed to have the original musical compositions I created or co-created in collaboration with friends and great colleagues such as Klaus Munro, Ralf Arnie and Michael Kunze, among others, performed for the first time by my daughter Vicky Leandros and emerge as her greatest hits, with which she became world famous: “Ich liebe das Leben”, “Dann kamst du/Après toi” (with which Ms. Leandros was crowned the winner of the 17th Eurovision Song Contest), “Wo Du Bist (Da Bin Auch Ich)’, ‘Die Bouzouki Klang Durch Die Sommernacht’, ‘Drehorgelmann’, ‘Ich Bin’, ‘Karussel d’ Amour’, to name just a few songs that I sign as creator and producer (Leo Leandros, Mario Panas).

With a court order that I have already sent, I forbid the public performance of the songs that I have created or co-created at the concert of Vicky Leandros in Herodio on September 6, 2024. The way in which this concert with Vicky’s “greatest hits” was described and promoted from the beginning, combined with such a “resounding” failure to mention my name, degrades and degrades both me as a composer and creator, as well as my works, thus offending my rights and personality. And the late communication efforts to refer to me and my name that I learn were mediated after the extrajudicial service was served, do nothing but confirm this insult.

I am sorry to experience such insult again. This time, however, I was forced to invoke the provisions of the law for the protection of my personality and my work, because I owe it to the course, my career and to myself, over a hundred years old.

I wish success in organizing the concert and to my daughter Vicky, expecting to show due respect to my statements.
